Electro-mechanical engineer and technical author. Average photographer in both film and digital, but working to improve my skills!

Main photography interests are astro, landscape, IR and macro photography, with a strong interest in B&W film processing. Also love to build aids and gadgets for my photography hobby, as it allows me to use my engineering skills.

  • I’m finding my way with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop Elements. I’m using older versions of these software packages, as they are the last standalone versions (LR5 and PSE2023) Adobe released before moving over to their current subscription model.   • Lots of plugins available for Lightroom and Photoshop, but one of the most useful ones I have found is Focus Points (https://github.com/musselwhizzle/Focus-Points). Freeware, and works really well – its really interesting to see WHERE your camera actually focused when taking a shot!
